William Nelson "Bill" Cossette Cossette, William "Bill" Nelson 2/22/37 - 4/1/10 Bill was born in Minneapolis to George and Camilla Cossette. He earned his Eagle Scout badge and graduated from Minneapolis Central in 1954 and St. John's University in 1959. Bill served in the US Army and achieved the rank of Captain. He married Joan Kieley in 1960 and raised 8 great kids. Tony, David, Mark, Kenneth,Thomas, Mary Kaye, Paul and Meg. He taught school and coached hockey at Alexander Ramsey High School. He was a Roseville volunteer firefighter, Cubmaster. youth hockey coach, and Super Dad. In 1978 Bill and family moved to Ely, MN where they owned and operated a resort until 1987. Bill and his second wife Michelle moved to Longville, MN in 2001, where he was an active member of the American Legion in Nisswa. Preceded in death by his parents, his son Thomas "Red", brother Richard "Dick" and sister Mary,"Honey". Survived by: his wife, Michelle, sons Tony, David "Clyde", Mark "Elby", Kenneth "Duker" and Paul "Goober" and daughters Mary Kaye and Margaret "Meg". Grandchildren: Morgan (Klatt), Camilla (Dornfeld), Brendon, Thomas, Jennifer and Gabriel Schneibel, Kristofer, Kylie, Kaiya and Kenneth McGuire, Great Grandchildren Adeline and Gunnar Klatt. "Jimmy" Passed away March 2, 2010 in Skagit Valley, WA after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by father, James; and brother, Larry. He is survived and missed by mother, Jeanette; sister, Kathy; and brothers, Robert, Ricky and Mike. A Celebration of Life was held on March 6 in Mount Vernon Washington.

Age 83 Of Roseville Born Dec. 16, 1925 in Bonduel, WI in his grandparents farm home. Died Nov. 1, 2009. 1943 graduate of Arlington HS, MN and St. Cloud State University. Earned his MA from the University of Indiana. Enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and served proudly aboard the USS Suffolk, WWII. As coxswain, drove an LCVP landing craft in the Pacific Area including invasions at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Taught physical education and health in Portland, OR, Mound, MN and the Roseville Area Schools. As a member of the original faculty that opened the new high school of Alexander Ramsey in 1953, Paul taught phy. ed. and health and also was assistant coach in wrestling and track. As a 38-year head coach of the Ramsey Rams Cross Country Team, he built an impressive record that included 2 state championships, 19 regional titles and 20 conference championships. Paul developed the elementary phy. ed. program for the entire district, and made rounds to the schools instructing teachers and students in the units of tumbling and square dancing and rhythms. He started a summer recreation program for studnets that included a variety of athletic and arts/crafts activities. When the district built swimming pools, Paul created a school and large community swim program. Paul initiated the elementary track meet where young students from across the district competed in various events. Some 40 years later, students still enjoy these competitions. In 1980, as a finalist for thte Minnesota State Teacher of the Year, he was named a "Teacher of Excellence" by the Minnesota Edu. Assoc. for his work in the classroom. The Minnesota State Coaches Assoc., the Minnesota State HS League, The Minnesota Cross Country Coaches and St. Cloud State University have all named him to their Halls of Fame. As to his success, Paul simply said that he always had the privilege of working with tremendous students, staff and parents. Throughout his career and into retirement, he was a avid gardener and apple grower. Teacher, coach, mentor to many. He loved his family, his church, his CC boys, the cabin and his garden. Preceded in death by parents, Rev. Joan and Linda Busch; sisters and brothers. Survived by wife of nearly 60 years, Dorothy; children, Susan Leaf (Thomas), Kevin (Felicia) and Barbara (Paul Dahlke, deceased); and 7 grandchildren. Funeral service at EMMAUS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1074 W. Idaho, St. Paul on Thurs. Nov. 5 at 10 AM. Visitation at Mueller-Bies Roseville, 2130 N. Dale @ Co. Rd. B. on Wed. from 4-7 PM and on Thurs. at the church from 9 AM until service. Interment St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Arlington, MN at 2:30 PM. Memorials preferred to family. Hi to every one. This page is great to have. Thanks to Dave and anyone else for creating and maintaining it. This past weekend Paul Busch past away. I also thought of him as a very gentle man with the ability to bring out in young men their best. I have stayed in touch with him since high school and felt privilaged to enjoy his friendship. He was unassuming yet lead by example, and he will be missed very much.

Ramsey's class of '69 had their 40th reunion last Saturday night. My sister went to it and said she had fun seeing everyone. We need to start planning our 40th reunion pretty soon or we'll miss out. Who wants to get involved with this? Please let me know and we can plan on a time to meet. If you know of anyone who wants to get involved, let them know too!!! Email to my address if you want. Thank you Jim Moore for forwarding the info about Tom Maze. My condolences to Tom's family. Many of us are far from our hometown of Roseville and the only way we hear of happenings about our fellow graduates and old friends is by getting these emails. Thank you all who keep this going.
